Ausmed has been operating for 20 years and is deeply branded in the nursing education market in Australia. We have been through several iterations of our website. We are after a new and exciting design that will appeal to nurses and other health care workers and to the new corporate sector that we will be moving in to over the coming year.
We have been through several iterations of our website over
the years and we now want to move on to a professionally designed site. We are after a design only that we can give
to our competent coders to convert in to a database driven site. We plan to run the site trough a CMS and therefore
please bear this mind, as it will need to be converted into a template.
Our audience is predominately 45 year old plus female nurses
and health care workers. Who are not necessarily computer literate.
The current site can be found here: http://www.ausmed.com.au/
Please ensure that you incorporate the ability to provide
the following links on the front page as a bare minimum, join mailing list,
books, conferences, registration, social networking, Build-e-Book. You can organise these pages in any manner
The colours of the design should echo our logo colours. See the wants below. Also the design will ideally not be fixed width, it should be able to expand an contract to different screen resolutions. Hospitals can have older computers and they may still be running 800x600 pixel resolutions.
We would like to maintain the same new design look and feel throughout
the site, so the sub-pages will be the same design as the front page but with a
method to include the specific links for that branch of the site (ie. A sub
menu or line of links).
The design needs to be compartmentalised, I imagine
something like a header and footer for common info and links and then
boxes/sections in the site, so that the front page can contain and promote
different products/services we offer. While on internal pages the whole central
section can be used to display just that content. See the current conference
registration system to see an example of this.
We would like a way to easily show off the up and coming conferences and publications on the homepage of the website. This needs to be graphically appealing and simply to navigate so we can get as many conferences as possible into viewers faces.
We currently do not carry adverts on the site. We would like
to start displaying adverts (from Google for example) or use the space to cross
sell other products, ie. Books that relate to a conference.
Please include a search box this will appear on every page. We also require a box to enter a conference
quick registration code. The
registration code is a numeric code which is printed on paper conference
programs so people can easily and quickly register for the right conference

We would like some icons or text placing on every page that will mean the following:
- Email the address of the page to a friend- Format the page for printing, ie just the main content section.- Bookmark the page
- You to deliver an Unflattened/layered
PSD file of final version- Exciting, elegant and
straight forward design
- Easy to read and follow,
consider the audience
- Our company colours are
process yellow and process cyan (as you can see in the logos)
- You to use good quality
stock images (if you feel they are needed), please provide links to the
source in your submission comments so we can check out the pricing and license.
If we feel they are too expensive we will ask you to change them.
- An original design, please
don’t use stock templates.
- Text that is too small- Too many picture references
to medical/nursing – after all we don’t actually provide medical care or
sell medical merchandise.
- Boring or unoriginal
