How imogenclark started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Imogen Clark, author.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
I write women's commercial fiction. My books are family-based stories which appeal to book groups. My first two titles have reached #1 in the UK and Australian kindle charts. My target audience is female English-speaking readers between 45 and 60. They are well educated and like an intelligent read that will make them think but that's not literary fiction. They generally have children of their own.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
I am looking for a fresh, clean modern look that can showcase my books and my blog. As new books only arrive once or twice a year the home page will be quite static. Change comes from my blog and my social media feed.
I would like light, fresh colours that will work with whatever cover the publishers send.
As my brand is me it's important that the page exhibits some personality. It needs to be engaging enough to make the visitor want to dig in deeper and read the blurb of my books and maybe find my blog.
I would like the site to be based on the wireframe of the existing site. The pages that Would like redesigning are Home, About, Books and Blog together with a generic Forms page that I can use for readers, contact etc.
What to avoid
I am fairly flexible but I'm not keen on yellow.
I would love to be proud of my website. This isn't something that I have ever achieved despite having had a blog since 2008! Please help me.
Hi everyone. You can see from my ratings which designs are getting closer to what I'm looking for. I don't want a design that I could do myself with Wordpress. I already the author theme. I'm wanting something with far more a design element in it, something that definitely looks designed rather than put together in an afternoon on Wordpress.
