New design for kid's newspaper - Uncoded - $301

This is a website for a long time local children's newspaper. The current site needs to be redesigned and modernized.

Introduction

Bear Essential News for Kids® is a monthly publication of Kids View Communications Corporation to educate, enrich and entertain children and their families. Content of the newspaper is designed to promote reading and writing skills as well as creativity. Classroom educators are encouraged to reproduce any portion of the newspaper for their students. Community specific editions are distributed to classrooms in both Tucson and Phoenix free of charge.

Client would like to revise the look, function and architecture of their current website to more adequately address the needs of their visiting market children, parents, teachers and advertisers particularly to be more engaging and reflective of a publication for children. He would to add additional sections and content.

Design/Layout

client would like to consider the use of colors that compliment the colors and tones of their established logo/banner (see files below), an uncluttered layout format that captures attention and navigation that is kid-friendly. Client is interested in a left-justified page and the use of left-side buttons that follow the scroll of the page , but is open to designer suggestion.

Scope

The site will consist of a home page and eleven sections, accessed thru navigation buttons and text links.

Home:
The home page will consist of name banner (see existing), new mark, and navigation buttons common to all pages. Home page content will include
brief introduction,
lead in to Issue, Guides, Teacher, Young Reporters, Contest and Foundation sections with more links,
find the hidden objects picture,
disclaimers

Contest is for home page and should be 770 pixels wide. We will strongly prefer a CSS friendly layout.

Conditions of Contest:

- Winner must be able to provide an invoice w/contact info via PayPal or other means
- We require a signed copy write release from the winner (provided)
