cyberscribe1 got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Help sell fire trucks!
Check out cyberscribe1's Web page design contest…
We're looking for a design for a company that sells fire trucks, emergency response vehicles, mobile command centers, and other such vehicles. Ideally, we need a design that captures the potential customers' eye at first glance!
First Choice Fire & Safety, Inc
What's your vision?
Accepted File Formats: Layered Formats (.psd or .tiff); Layered psd or png This design will be used to create a site for a company that specializes in sales and service of all types of fire trucks, emergency response vehicles, SWAT command trucks, etc. This will be the first web site they've ever had, so they really don't know what they want -- which isn't that helpful to you, I know, but it does open up a whole world of creative possibilities... :) Here's what we know we need: - Strong use of colors to really catch a prospect's eye when they visit the page. The client has no color preferences, other than that the colors work with their logo, which you can find at http://www.cybscribe.net/firstchoice/First+Choice+logo+A.pdf. - The home page will primarily feature a flash animation that will start with a video from inside a fire truck responding to a call, which will quickly transition to show two vehicles, a fire truck and an emergency response vehicle. Your design should show what the page will look like after the flash animation has completed, thus showing the two vehicles. For placeholder/sample purposes, you can view/capture images of the vehicles in the Apparatus section of http://www.ferrarafire.com/apparatus/aerials/index.html and http://www.evi-fl.com .Don't worry about the quality of these placeholder images -- we'll replace those later with hi quality images suppled by the respective manufacturers. You can use your own fire trucks photos, if you like, as placeholders in your submission, but really, who has their own fire truck photos? - The menu will contain the following items: Home, Apparatus, Recent Deliveries, Mobile Services, Employee Directory (or Directory, if we need to shorten), and Contact. - The width of the winning design should fit onto a monitor set at 800 x 600px. We know we do want something more 'modern' than your "typical" fire trucks sales web site, if there is such a thing (but it doesn't necessarily need to have a 2.0 look). For example, I really, really want to avoid a look like http://www.freedomfireequipment.com/ or http://www.fescosales.com/usedveh.asp. The winning design should be in a layered png or psd file which we can slice up into a web page later. Â Â
