How Adventia started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
It is an art website for users to request either copies of famous artworks to be painted, or reproductions of family photos etc. Full outline is provided in Functional Specification attached to this brief.

What do you have in mind for the style and theme of the web page?
One of the main issues we had with the logo design contest was the pitch of the design to the key demographic of the site. We're pitching at 25-45 year old (gender not important) - wealthy people, so the site needs to be classy, upmarket, not too busy - think how an art gallery showroom looks. Minimalist is good, plenty of whitespace, good use of fonts and colours.
The two pages we want designed are the home page and the catalogue page. Both of these pages are described in detail in the Functional Specification document, and I have purposely not provided a wireframe in order for you not to be restricted on specifics of layout.
To start with, focus on only one of the two pages - once we are satisfied you are heading in the right direction we'll ask you to look at the other page. Ideally start with the home page but if you feel you have stronger ideas for the catalogue page feel free to do that one.
What to avoid
Nothing corporate or cliched. This is an art site. Also avoid flashy or tacky, both in imagery and font choice. We'll know immediately if the style of the site is suitable to the audience.
As with all the other contests, we will try to give feedback at least daily. Remember we're in Australia so will be during business hours or sometimes in the evening. If we feel a design is not heading down the right path, we'll rule it out early to save wasting your time. We've found in the past this works well with designers coming back with on-brief designs that have ended up winning. Good luck!
