Garymoneysmith got their new web page design by running a design contest:
Help TeacherCare with a new website design

TeachAndCare.com is a web platform that makes it easy for parents to find and hire a teacher to provide in-home, private child care service, tutoring or specialty services. Teachers submit their profile and background information onto the website. Parents search for potential child care providers (teachers) and review the teacher profiles. Parents who pay a membership fee ($19 - $39/month) have access to the teacher contact information so they can reach out to the teacher to start the interview/hiring process.
The parents who use Teach and Care are passionate about their children's education and have high expectations for quality. Our website needs to convey a welcoming, trustworthy and contemporary identity. It should be visually organized and intuitive to understand. Feel free to use colors from our logo in the page design, BUT don't belabor the red, orange and blue. Absolutely feel free to use other neutral colors that work well with the logo colors; using logo colors sparingly or for accents only is perfectly fine. Finally, consider using slightly rounded corners on boxes to soften the page and to subtly tie into the rounded nature of our logo.
For this Design Concept project, we have completed the wireframe phase (see attached file) and are giving you full creative freedom to use this wireframe to make this page look amazing. Notes: 1) Anything depicted in the wireframe as dummy text can stay dummy text in your design concept. If specific text is used, please continue to use it in your design. 2) The large grey box in the wireframe denotes a photo slideshow that includes subtle left/right arrows. The search options/box should always remain on top of the slideshow photos. Please use the provided photo (teachandcare_slideshow_photo.jpg) as the placeholder slideshow photo for your design concept. A slideshow caption box should also be included. It should contain a 1-sentence description of the service being depicted for the accompanying slide photo. 3) For the Service Areas section, we're highlighting our three primary service areas: Child Care, Tutoring and Specialists. Please use any placeholder photos for the 3 boxes for this design project. Design the first box (Child Care) to be an "active state" mouseover. The bold lines of text (such as "Nanny Alternative" will be links to their respective pages. 4) Finally, the bottom area with the cities/services should be text links.
What to avoid
Nope, nothing comes to mind that should be avoided.
