How JanJonckheere started their web page design journey
Pal Robotics is a young and dynamic company, consisting mostly of engineers, that originally was created as a Research & Development company. We have developed several prototype humanoid biped robots (one of which is known to be the best in Europe), and we are now looking at releasing them commercially.
Therefore we have changed the corporate image, and as a result we need to change the website design to reflect this.
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
There does not yet exist a market for humanoid robots, except for R&D purposes. But there are some potential markets, in which the interest has to be created or shaken up.
Our mission is to provide robotic products and services for those markets, which can become an integral part of our daily life. Our service and humanoid robots are designed for the people and to serve the people, therefore the company wants to provide reliable solutions that really improve the daily work of our clients and their quality of life.
Potential markets are Luxury hotels, trade shows and events, entertainment and attraction parks, holiday resorts, musea (as guide), healthcare, elder care, Universities and R&D institutes, and possible semi-industrial applications.
We are looking for a Web 2.0 design that reflects our new corporate image. The design should be clean and light, not cluttered. It should be elegant and give a feeling of exclusivity. It should reflect innovation & technology but avoid a sporty or industrial feeling. It should reflect the image of a professional company making an exclusive product, we are not making toys!
IMPORTANT - We wish to maintain the layout which is attached in the attached screen-shots. We have two types of page layout - front page - consisting of a top menu, large image and content area, and inner page - top menu, left menu and content area. Please maintain this layout in any submitted design. (Note: This is different from our current web-page. In fact please ignore our current web-page!).
The design must include our logotype and also have a distinct footer section, repeated on one every page. The content area should have a white or light coloured background, so that text can be read clearly. Buttons and Menus should also have distinct Web 2.0 design/colours for 'active items' and 'hover'.
We have also attached files containing the logotype and information about the corporate image.
