Medical & Pharmaceutical
Informed Medical Decisions Foundation has been working for over two decades to advance evidence-based shared decision making through research, policy, clinical models and patient decision aids. Shared decision making is a collaborative process that allows patients and their providers to make health care treatment decisions together, taking into account the best scientific evidence available as well as the patient's values and preferences. Shared decision making honors both the provider's expert knowledge and the patient's right to be fully informed of all care options and the potential harms and benefits. This process provides patients with the support they need to make the best individualized care decisions, while allowing providers to feel confident in the care they prescribe.
National Coalition on Health Care http://nchc.org/ We like the blog style format of this site's homepage and the top right action menu. The action buttons on right sidebar stand out too. Overall, very clean cut and simple. Food for the Hungry http://www.fh.org/ Simple, slideshow is main focus- we would like ours to be too. Colors work well together. Social media is prominent.
We are looking for a simple, yet catchy and modern design. Homepage: Should grab people's attention but not be too overpowering that it takes away from the content we will have. Homepage Elements: Slideshow- Directly under main navigation, taking up whole width of page, with four rotating images/stories. Blog style news feed under slideshow, one column format. Right sidebar- Includes search box, twitter widget and three callout buttons (using dark orange accent color): 1) "Subscribe to our eNewsletter" box 2) "Are you a researcher looking for funding? Click here." button 3) "See where shared decision making is happening across the U.S." button. Footer- Recent Posts, Address and Phone Number, Copyright, Site Map, Log in. Other suggestions and elements are welcome. Second page: A simplified one-column sub-page in the same design family as the homepage with a right sidebar.
