Luke.schafer got their new web page design by running a design contest:

Training college for Childcare workers. We require a site aimed at adults who have a passion for working with children
Must be a balance between playful and professional. Use lots of colour, probably pastels as it shouldn't be dark. Must use stock photography of childcare related items - fun/colourful. Probably at least one with an adult staff member helping children. Pay close attention to the comments on the 'inspirational websites' as you will get a clear idea of the layout requirements and the amount of colour. Colours shouldn't clash with the existing logo (duh), but don't feel constrained by it. Note the rectangles below the logo aren't buttons, nor are they part of the logo, but should appear somewhere either exactly the same or slightly altered to fit the design. Phone number must be prominent up the top, possibly email too if you can make it look good, but the main thing is the phone number I may update this section as I believe I forgot some things I originally wrote - 99d lost it (just this section...) when I submitted!
Only need the front page designed - it will be turned into a wordpress theme. Totally static is fine but would be better if there was a rotation or likewise of related mood imagery that can have a tagline with it/overlaid etc. At the moment the only copy for the front page is a couple of paragraphs, but would be nice to have some space for supporting statements or something to break it up... maybe a couple of small stock photos Must contain the NRT and VELG logos (see attachments) somewhere - immediately visible but not too prominent. Sorry I only have jpg for NRT.
What to avoid
Although I talk a lot about having colour, resist the temptation to get too gaudy/overpowering with the colours Menu items might change (add/remove) so best if they're not all unique colours or hard to fit in the space allocated.
UPDATE-attached 2 versions of the logo, I think I prefer the more vibrant colours but you can snip the boxes off if needs be. Please provide notes or example images or rollover colours Please provide either: full stock images, or links to the original so I can purchase. Prefer all from one site with a reasonable adhoc plan such as '12 for $50' I'm a web developer and sometimes-designer, so don't hesitate in asking questions. I would do this myself but I don't have time, and I have seen evidence of all the great work done here.
