We are a unique new video startup looking for a simple but revolutionary site design.
videota.pe
We are looking to develop templates for two key pages of our site. The actual content is still in development and this design will help craft how and what information we display.
What we want is a "style" to these key pages that we can build content off of. Don't get too caught up in the actual content but rather focus
on the flow of the pages since we will build the content around the
right design.
Here are the key details of the two pages:
1) Home page: This will serve as the launching pad for the site. New users will register here and registered users will login. We partcularly like how sites like twitter.com, tumblr.com and muxtape.com handle their homepage design (we are not looking to knock off any of these designs but want to provide them as basic examples to draw inspiration from).
2) Video page: The video needs to be the star of this page. It should focus primarily on the video content that is being displayed. It should also include a basic navigation and footer as well as a simple way to display similar videos that a user may want to click on and view. Users will be providing titles, descriptions and tags for each video so it is important to think how that information will be displayed in a informational and clutter free way.
Some other useful information:
- This is a consumer focused site
- The site is focused on viewing and sharing videos
- The logo was recently designed in another 99designs contest. Images, fonts, colors, etc are all available here:
- Progressive, simple, soothing design that is distinctive but also familiar in its simplicity
- Sites we love include tumblr.com, muxtape.com, twitter.com, wordpress.com, delicious.com.
- Clunky, image heavy sites that confuse or put off the user
- Over done design that is too cutesy or "cartoony"
- Anything that is completely derivative of other web properties
- We ARE NOT building a youtube clone
