Asjoiner got their new web page design by running a design contest:
website design for 501Carbon
Check out Asjoiner's Web page design contest…
501Carbon is a non-profit marketplace for carbon emission offsets. Our motto is: "making voluntarily offsetting your carbon emissions easier than doing nothing." The 501Carbon website (www.501carbon.org) will be a place to learn about the company, but most importantly purchase high quality carbon offsets. These will primarily be targeted at individual purchasers to offset the carbon emissions from their vehicles, home/lifestyle, and consumerism. There will be sections for businesses and event attendees to purchase offsets as well.
May or may not have banner image, but will have logo prominently on display. Logo color scheme is green and gold, using gradients, so whatever background color that makes the color scheme pop will be fine. If a banner image is used (I may upload some options later) it will need to be positioned in a way that does not take away from the logo or information on the page. Looking for flat design, and I am fine with longer pages, but worry about keeping the products above the fold. Looking for lots of empty space; I want the pages to be easy to read and understand, as well as have a modern feel. Want a relatively limited color palette, but pages that are still exciting and are way more complex than a wordpress blog. Typography can be anything, but more than anything I want the website to convey a luxurious, masculine, and take-charge type of vibe.
1.) Home Page Pictures (provided below) on the left with deep box shadows, corresponding to green headings with blocks of text under them in the middle. Right 20% of page should be available for a shopping cart that follows the user, as well as scrolling blog posts or news/updates. Top web-bar should have: About Us, Contact Us, Blog, Member Login Under banner image should have: Home, Offsets/Products, FAQ, Checkout 2.) Purchase Offsets Pictures in the same shape or design as home page photos (smaller than the pictures on the home page) on the left corresponding to green headings for each product type (Individual, Vehicle, etc) with block text under headings to explain products. Under this block text there should be icons (all of the same size) that can fit the text describing the product within the icon. 3.) Pop-up Cart Addition This page should be small with rounded edges and will be linked to 7 of the product icon. It should have a drop-down menu for numbers to calculate things like: number of rooms in your house, number of attendees at an event, number of family members. Layout should be responsive, all pages should have social media badges, and I really like the fixed header bar idea.
What to avoid
The website is expected to grow in the coming months, so there will be multiple pages to be added in the near future.
