Rami Taibah needed a new web page design and created a contest on 99designs.
A winner was selected from 34 designs submitted by 14 freelance designers.
World Cup Love will be a blog about the Fifa World Cup. It will not be about regular news or scores, but rather fun facts, oddities, strange stories, statistical analysis....etc
World Cup Love
Basically I want a theme that truly reflects the essence of the sport
and not your regular card-board cut stereotypical themes of football
(soccer).
The World Cup has a very memorable and unique legacy, Football fans around the world have different fond memories. Baggio's miss, Gascoigne weeping, Cruyff's turn...etc. Trying to capture this true essence of the competition is important.
The logo was created using 99designs.com also, so you might want to check that contest also http://99designs.com/contests/9693 There are some random comments over there that might give you insights of what I want.
The winning logo can be found here http://99designs.com/contests/9693/…ies/666660 obviously the website should use this logo and probably revolve around it (color-wise)

- Professional layout, that considers ad sense, sponsors, archives, categories, menues etc. Check out different professional blogs out there, the sky is the limit ;)
- RSS feed icon in a very distinguishable and eye-catchy place. Preferably large. You can create a custom RSS logo based on the original website (not essential but would be nice)
- Modern, web 2.0-ish sleekish look.
- Captures the true essence of the Fifa World Cup, or at leasts reflects Fifa World Cup or other Fifa events branding
- Text should be on white background
- Stereotypical card-board cut themes about the sport
- Other than that anything goes ;)
