demographics: 35-60 years, lives in washington dc area, government decision makers, business owners, college educated,
slogan: "If you want it done, we are IT" - this doesn't have to be included in the logo but it would be interesting to see the possibilities. i want to communicate when trouble hits, i'm the guy to get it fixed and resolved. when all else fails (and hopefully you don't get to that point), i'm IT. (IT is a play on information technology)
my work is similar to other people; however, i really have the expertise, experience and network to call on people with great credentials to get things done. i tend to do damage control on projects or events that went off course. i fix things and get things done.
i would like something simple and easy to remember from branding perspective. easy to reproduce on coversheets, letterheads, proposals, etc, any place I may use it. i want to use it enough so when people see the logo, they'll ah ha, i know that from somewhere.
HN Consulting is short for my name Hung Nguyen. although not related, i have a trademark on my name Hung Nguyen (http://www.hungnguyen.com), if i can use the logo for Hung Nguyen that would be cool and I'm willing to pay extra as a bonus depending on how it turns out or maybe variation of one logo for HN Consulting and one for Hung Nguyen. but I get HN Consulting might be better for business than just my name. want to avoid jokes on the "Hung" part so it doesn't mess up business/professional.
this is all new to me, so I'm willing to get ideas and work with the team.

If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
Text in logos should be converted to outlines.
