Description of the organization and its target audience
TIGS is an online community for indie game makers, design, development, and art for video games. We are also launching a podcast and will be teaching game design, development, and art.
Addendum (direction):
I'm looking for an "iconic" logo (Emblem / Brandmark / Combination mark) over simple wordmarks. I also think that just a controller on its own is overdone. Hoping for a good (creative) logo that encompasses "community", "education", "game design" and not something that will be mistaken for just playing games. (i.e. NOT just a game controller or the buttons from a game controller).

This is the parent company logo. I've used the shape in the past for other logos (see toolchain icon)

I'm looking for a logo that encompasses game education (development, design, art, audio, etc...), community (connecting artists to developers), and skill progression. check out https://theindiegamescene.com for clarity on the offer.
If you use fonts that require a license, confirm with the client they're ok with it. For licensing reasons, it is better to provide your client with information on how to acquire the font rather than providing the actual files.
